Tariffs and What it Means for you.

Shipment Delays due to High Tariffs (April - June)

Due to the high tariffs (145%) in effect April through early June, many items slated for release in these months were delayed by the manufacturer and distributors for shipment into the US.

Shipment of goods has just recently resumed at the end of May by distributors so currently many items are in transit over the ocean so we're expecting many delayed items to arrive ~August depending on transit times and custom clearance.

Tariffs and Effects:

While the effect of Trump's Tariffs on import goods have not yet being felt by consumers, we as retailer and importer can see the effects of his policies much sooner.

The blanket tariffs on Chinese made goods will have a significant impact on both Gamers and Anime fans alike as the majority if no ALL of these goods are manufactured in China.

We currently already see the tariffs hit the new arrival of goods on Anime related items from our wholesalers - 10% on goods arrived after Feb 4th, and 20% on good arrived after March 4th, and Trump is promising to raise tariffs to 40% in the trade war.

The video games, collectibles and toys industries runs on thin margins as with all consumer goods, so while as retailers we can absorb up to 10% increase in cost in the short term immediate future, it would be impossible to keep products at the previously price point if cost of goods increases by 20% or higher for the long term and would necessitate a surcharge on products that will be a direct transfer of tariff cost.

What is ahead:

Current in stock items are not affected by Tariffs, but almost ALL preorder items will be affected. While it is possible for us to absorb low tariff increase on small items such as prize figures, it is impossible for us to absorb the cost of tariffs on thin margin goods such as scale figures as a retailer, surcharge that transfers the tariff cost will be implemented as items come in and cost is set.

Orders will be treated as per item bases since the tariff amount currently keeps rising depending on the arrival date of goods at port which is an absolute nightmare for any kind of price stabilization.

FOR PREORDERs:

Due to the Tariff rate being unset and changing and to be as transparent as possible, as items arrive at port and released, we'll contact you for the order item and inform you of the surcharge of the items in the order at which point you'll have a choice to follow through with the order with the tariff surcharge added in a separately invoice or cancel with 100% refund.

To alleviate the impact of the tariff charge to be best our abilities. We'll be sending a 20% coupon on the surcharge paid on each order to use on any future order (preorder or in-stock items) within 90 days.

FOR IN-STOCK ITEMS AFFECTED BY TARIFFS:

Price will be adjusted to reflect the added cost of Tariffs when items are in-stock for simplicity sake.

What you can do:

To keep consumer prices low, we urge you to contact your state representatives in US Congress since Tariff powers are actually powers of Congress and only DELEGATED to the President, so congress will have the necessary tools to keep prices low for you!
